Sumner Industries was founded by principals who have spent decades building, operating, and selling businesses across real estate development, infrastructure, technology, and capital formation. The office represents a shift from operating to allocating: applying that direct experience to identifying where outsized value is forming before it becomes consensus.
We invest our own capital alongside our capital partners in opportunities where structural demand far outpaces available supply. Our thesis is rooted in inevitability: identifying positions that feel obvious in hindsight, and structuring capital to be there early, with discipline around downside exposure.
We take an active role in the strategic oversight of every initiative we back, working closely with operators and leadership teams. Our capital partners benefit from the same direct involvement, transparency, and long-term discipline that governs how we deploy our own capital.
Gary is a strategic operator with two decades of experience leading complex, capital-intensive projects across real estate development, infrastructure, and energy. Over the past decade, he has overseen more than $1 billion in realized development revenue, with additional multi-billion-dollar initiatives currently underway across land development, energy infrastructure, and data center development. His experience spans acquisitions, due diligence, permitting, construction management, and large-scale coordination between public and private stakeholders. In parallel, Gary has spent more than ten years engaged with blockchain and decentralized systems as an investor, advisor, and operator. Sumner Industries reflects the convergence of that background: deploying capital into the foundational layers where physical infrastructure and emerging technology meet structural demand.
Ashley is a founder, operator, and capital strategist with more than a decade of experience building and scaling technology-driven platforms. She has founded and led high-growth consumer marketplaces and technology ventures, building platforms that reached more than 20 million people globally and earning recognition from The New York Times for her leadership within the female founder movement. Her experience spans company formation, venture capital raising, go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, team building, and revenue growth. She has structured strategic partnerships, driven national media visibility, and cultivated investor networks aligned around both financial performance and long-term value creation.
At Sumner Industries, Ashley leads capital partnerships, opportunity sourcing, and investor relations. Her background in company building, capital raising, and strategic positioning informs how the firm identifies, structures, and supports its investments alongside capital partners.
